This Port is a fortified Wine produced in the demarcated region of the Douro, situated in the northeast of Portugal. As far as the origin of the soil, most of the Demarcated region particularly along the Douro River and its tributaries is schistose with some granite around the edges. Located in deep valleys, protected by mountains, the climate in the region is characterized by very cold winters and hot dry summers. VINIFICATION The grapes are crushed and submitted to a strong maceration. In order to get a rich port wine colour and flavour. To obtain a port wine with natural sugar, fermentation is stopped by adding a certain quantity of wine spirit. Maturation in oak-wood casks. TASTING NOTES Coloured amber, deep with long tasting aroma, plenty of dry fruit present. It is a well developed wine with a very long elegant finish. Round and Velvety with some hints of wood. Ideal as a dessert, apertive, with melon and cheese. Suggestions: Wine should be stored in a dry, cool place. With little light and protected from temperature variations. The bottle must be kept in the upright position. Wine must be poured at a temperature between 16* C and 18* C. Port wine is a natural wine it will have a deposit in the process of ageing. Ideal to serve with chocolates, cakes, almonds and fruits.
